It has been brought to my attention scammers has has found a way of contacting our members for what appears to be a way of committing malicious acts against us. They are taking the time to register under some fictitious name then (P.M.) all names on the membership list.
Please do not respond to any such mail, it has nothing to do with this forum.
One such scam is a person using the name "Mann In Blackk" signed onto the forum posing to be a Administrator using a sign on name "Admin Team". Once they were in they sent a (PM) to all names on the member list clamming the members computer was infected with a virus. They also give you a link to get rid of your so called virus,(DON'T OPEN IT.) I would not be surprised if by opening it, that it would infect your computer. Although some PMs may have gotten through I found and deleted over 100 such PMs. So again DO NOT RESPOND TO OR OPEN THAT ONE OR ANY OTHER SUCH MAIL THAT LOOKS SUSPICIOUS. If in doubt contact me first."I will always sing my name". The so called "Man(n) in Black(k)" did not.
Also that person and a few others, (maybe the same person using different names) has been removed and band from this forum.
Cross Road Steel Guitar Forum will never knowingly permit things like this to happen. Please try and understand it is very hard to keep people of this kind out when there is no charge for membership.I do not wish to charge anyone a membership fee,
however that is one option that I may need to consider if a better way is not found.
Checking "GOOGLE" I see other Forums have been hit the same way.
Rest assured we will do all we can to keep Cross Road Steel Guitar Forum the Christan site so many have come to know and be apart of.
